Colin Briscoe
Daniel Champagne latest presents a fresh sound in this release of wonderful vocals, guitar and percussion - a musician that continues to break new ground.
Over three years in the making 'Trying To Hold The Setting Sun' was recorded between studios in Nashville, Sydney, Adelaide and Far South New South Wales where I grew up and contains 9 of my most honest and personal songs that sprung out of the whirlwind of a never ending tour that I've been on in recent times. On stage I love performing solo, just me, my guitar and a bag of songs that end up being like close friends that you catch up with every night but in the studio this time, I wanted to explore a little more. I loved working with different producers, different musicians, a string section, a choir, old and new friends, all with their own stories and sounds. I'm really proud of what this new album is and incredibly excited to see it fly out into the world!

Love and anger and hope and despair all mixed together by turns with driving beats and delicate guitar. A shaft of light through the storm clouds. Blatherus
